top 8 cenotes to visit

There are over 6000 cenotes that have been discovered in Mexico, choosing the best ones can be a tricky task. We have chosen top 8 cenotes that are both beautiful and unique.

It is not an easy task as most of them are away from tourist hubs and do not offer clear signs and directions.

we compiled a list and info that is both accessible and unique.
each cenote has info on driving, tips, pics and general information.

hope you find the post informative and helpful!

I wish there was a way to share images with the readers.

if you want to read the rest of the article and see our photos: (and no, i am not interested in clicks or ads, just want to share our travels)

Thanks for the article. Hope these do not now get more over run with tourists than some already are.
(Been to most of them.)

Been to Grand cenote and Azul. Both were awesome and completely different.

I also hope that they don't get ruined. The fact that locals tend to them and hold them sacred should help.

Mexico deserves credit for tourism. There is so much to do that you simply have to come back.

thank you for kind words!

Visiting more cenotes is one of the reasons that I really want to go back to the Yucatan. We have only visited a few because my husband isn't much for being in the water. He's a good sport and hangs out while I swim, but he'd rather be spending time elsewhere, so we compromise. If it was up to me, I'd spend my time cenote-hoping.
