Several posters to this board might be accused of biased recommendations, given that they own apartments for rent or run travel agencies. I travel to Buenos Aires regularly, and have no such biases other than a love for the city. I have stayed in several hotels and apartments that I consider well worth the money, and I have recently used a travel service I can recommend.<BR><BR>Apartments/Aparthotels.<BR><BR>1. Saint. www.apartmentsba.net...<BR><BR>offers three apartments for rent, all near Patio Bullrich, a very upscale part of town.....very near the Four Seasons Hotel and not far from the heart of Recoleta. Range...35-75 per night..lower for long term stay.<BR><BR>I stayed in the apartment on Libertador...it has been recently remodeled, and is quite nice for the money. It is as pictured on the site, and Saint's agents in Buenos Aires go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.<BR><BR>2. Art Suites. <BR><BR>www.artsuites.com.ar...offers one and two bedroom apartments with central heat and air. Two bedroom apartments are especially nice. one bedroom, about $65 per night, plus tax (20 %..yikes!) Located on Azcuenaga, in Barrio Norte not far from Recoleta. Tastefully done, superb staff! <BR><BR>Both of the above have security on site....<BR><BR>Hotels....<BR><BR>1. Howard Johnsons Plaza (former Mariott Courtyard)..On Florida Street (the downtown pedestrian mall). Nice mid range hotel....with a 15 % AARP discount, I paid $48 per night for a king room, balcony, upper floor with a nice view. Includes breakfast, but not tax. Relatively new.<BR><BR>2. Holiday Inn Express. On Alem, near Puerto Madero. AAA members pay about $45 per night, plus tax, for a nearly new room in a convenient location...breakfast included. Friendly, helpful staff. <BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>

I can echo drdawggy's sentiments. I just returned from a trip to Buenos Aires a few days ago. I've traveled the world and BA is a special city as others have noted. I first read about BA on a travel message board. I read the Saint's post and booked a ticket based on the post and the follow-up posts by others. I stayed in his apartment on Libertad for 10 days and it was simply amazing. <BR><BR>He goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. The apartment felt like home. His staff were all excellent and met me at the apartment. They all spoke fluent English. I traveled with a friend who was staying in an apartment through another agency. It was very unfortunate that his apartment's air-conditioner broke down so we spent much time in my airconditioned apartment and upstairs out by the pool. <BR><BR>I had no problems whatsoever. I can honestly recommend his apartments are as advertised and I will stay there again when I return in September if there is room. I just noticed it is booked solid the next few weeks.<BR><BR>

Let me tell you one thing:I´m not a normal traveler. I seldom take one of the tours offered by travel agencies as I prefer to arrange my trip by myself. But thanks to Cintia my trip was enlightened. I bet you won´t realize how unique her services are until you meet her in BA. So I give her my highest recommendation.

I am in the design profession and toured Buenos Aires for 22 days studying its cultural form. What a wonderful city….. the cuisine, people, history, and their attention to exterior details and interior spatial qualities are just a few elements that ensure my return. <BR><BR>When touring a new city, I enjoy the comforts of home and acquainting myself with the residence of the area. I booked my accommodations through [email protected]. For my entire trip I stayed at http://hometown.aol.com/saintofba/libertad.html because of its location and the promise of quality. <BR><BR>The apartment is located in the southern part of Recolata, which is perhaps the safest barrio of Bs As. It is situated at the handle of a fan to the most desirable tourist attractions that Buenos Aires has to offer. At one’s doorstep are the attractions of Recolata and within a 20-minute walking distance are the shops on Florida and the Galerias Pacifico as well as on Sante fe. It is also conveniently located to the major taxi routes on Libertador/Julio, which will take one to La Boca, Plaza de Mayo/ Centro, Puerto Madero, Barrio North and Palmero. <BR><BR>As a designer I am obsessed with details and the apartment staff makes a great effort to maintain all the quality elements of the public spaces from the grand marble entrance to the confines of the laundry room. The apartment was extremely clean and the furnishings very comfortable which are two of the most important qualities that I demand before arriving anywhere. The apartment rooftop has a spectacular view of the city, a pool with lounge chairs and the therapeutic comforts of a 4-person whirlpool spa. It was very quiet day and night so one can rest peacefully after a long day of touring. <BR><BR>I feel compelled to write this review after taking much information from the discussion boards to Bs As. It is also intended to show my appreciation for the kindness and patience of Mayri and Saint whose expedient replies to my numerous questions on the apartment and Buenos Aires in general eased my apprehension of travelling to South America for the first time. <BR><BR>Pablo<BR>
