Ushuaia or Bariloche?
My wife and I are planning a week-long trip to Argentina and were looking for one side trip away from Buenos Aires. We're thinking of either Bariloche or Ushuaia.
Bariloche looks really beautiful, but we like the idea of going to the southernmost city and exploring Tierra del Fuego. If you had to pick one, which would you choose?
Thanks.

IF YOU HAVE AT LEAST 6 DAYS GIVE THE 2 CITIES A CHANCE. THEY ARE OUTSTANDING AND IT IS REALLY AN EXCELLENT COMBINATION.IF YOU ALLOW ME I WOULD SAY 3 DAYS LAKE DISTRICT, VISITING BARILOCHE AND SAN MARTIN AND V.ANGOSTURA AND THE OTHER 3: ONE NIGHT IN THE GLACIERS AND 2 IN USHUAIA.
FANTASTIC!!!!!

I loved both but you cannot see them in the time that you are allowing I feel. Bariloche is beautiful and worth spending some time in and around the place with perhaps a trip over the Andes as its only $15 BUT you would need more time.
Ushuaia's surrounds will blow you mind. It has some of the most impressive scenery that I have had the pleasure of seeing and the flight down is worth it just to see the Andes. The town itself is quite nice but small - its the surrounding area that is fantastic. I went out to see the sea lions and that was wonderful. If I had my time over and had only a short visit schedule I would go to Ushuaia because of the scenery en route BUT you would have to make sure that you are not on the flight that arrives in darkness because you miss the scenery. Bariloche, leave that for a trip of at least one week for itself!
OR take a trip to el Califate and see the most awesome glaciers.
