In a word, no.
Try www.saltshaker.net for a look at several wineries in the Colonia, Uruguay area...These wineries would be closer than the Argentina wine country.
Several of the Argentine wineries and wine shops offer tastings....but that's about as close as you can get without hopping on a plane and going to Mendoza.

Yes, unfortunately, the closest area of wineries in Argentina is Mendoza - that's 600 miles west of Buenos Aires... not exactly a day trip. You can take a ferry across to Colonia and probably arrange to visit one or more of the few wineries on the west coast of Uruguay like Los Cerros de San Juan or Irurtia. But I'd make arrangements in advance - one of the things you'll find in this part of the world is that most wineries aren't set up for day-to-day visitors to just drop in - everything is by appointment (with the exception of some of the bigger wineries out in Mendoza that have gotten on the wine tourist bandwagon).

we visited the Cerros de San Juan and enjoyed it a lot. It is the oldest bodega in Uruguay, and has a lot of charm. Call ahead and the experts there will show you everything, then you can sample the wines in the old
"almacen" or "pulperia" and if yo wish you can buy some good wine for a reasonable price.
