Horrible experience at Pinsaqui Hacienda, Ecuador
I went to spend the night there with my partner and what should have been a pleasant stay, turned into a nightmare...
The first room they gave us was small and its fireplace spilled fumes inside of the room, my partner turned it off and the smoke smell stayed in the room. Therefore we couldn't sleep much.
Our first day's breakfast was poor, they served us the leftovers of the main food, we didn't eat much.
The waitress at breakfast on our second day had a miserable attitude and didn't want to serve us, we complained with the manager, but the complaint was not taken into account.
When we checked out my partner went to pick up our car in order to bring it closer to our room so we could load our luggage easily, he was walking with our dog and suddenly the owner's dog (an American pitbull) attacked my partner and our dog causing them a few injuries that had to be treated at a Otavalo city hospital and at a Quito vet's clinic later. Instead of apologizing, the owner performed a verbal attack against my partner asking him to leave his hacienda right away without any apology or refund for the injuries caused to us, he shouted at us "make sure you pay before you leave"! We walked to the front desk and we asked for band aids and they didn't have those, we also asked for alcohol to clean my partner's injuries and blood, and they had only one or two ounces, we asked for cotton and they had only a small amount. We paid and my bleeding partner had to drive with his bleeding hand down to the hospital where doctors gave him a three day leave to rest in order to get cured from the injuries. Our dog received treatment later in Quito and we spent a lot of money on both medical attention.
Staying in this place is dangerous for your life since the dog and the owner can attack you.
