Lan South America Pass...I Need Some Clarity
I am a little confused and I think I know the answer to my own question...But I need a little reinforcement. Don't make me feel bad !
I am wanting to book several segments on the Lan South America Pass. Here's the thing....On Lan.com it states that flying into Puerto Iguazu is to fly into the Brazil side (IGU). When you navigate that site, it doesn't give you the three letter airport code, so it's a little vague. I want to fly into the Argentina side. When I called Lan, the agent stated that they only fly into Argentina. She could not answer why it states Brazil on line. The time of the flights seem to match with the IRG flights. I just want to hear, read, whatever, that yes, of course it is a web mistake and indeed the Lan flight on the South America Pass goes into IGR Argentina, and not IGU Brazil. Thank You!

Once you click on the flight price...the next screen will have the Airport code. Buenos Aires to Iguazu is a domestic flight, it goes to the Argentinian side from the domestic airport in Buenos Aires AEP.

Hi Avrooster. Thanks! Since I have your attention....I pretty much have our itinerary planned. My one 3 day open spot is after Iguazu and before our last days in Buenos Aires, before we fly home. We really wanted to experience a beach, but it just doesn't seem to make sense. If we went to one of the beaches near Mar del Plata (like Casilo or Pinamar), we'd have to get off our flight from Iguazu and get a bus in BA and drive 5 hours.
Punta del Este seems inaccessable as well. Nobody ever mentions the water area near BA. Should I just give up, or is there a beach, or a way to get to a beach that isn't too difficult to figure out?

I will be down your way before Christmas in BA and after New Year for a beach.
Moai12, I didn't work with the 3 letter code when you try to book the South America Pass, it goes right to personal info/CC info. I guess when you book through the regular Lan flights it does that. But I trust that I won't be surprised with a trip to Brazil that I wasn't expecting...I think

As I assume you know, seeksocean, it will be quite warm here at that time of the year and the locals will be starting to leave for their summer holidays.
If I were you, I would go to our South, instead of to Iguazú and the beach, because I dislike high temperatures, but it's wholly a matter of taste.
If I had only a few days and definitely wanted to go to the beach, this is the way I would do it: right after you get off the plane from Iguazú, board a plane for Mar del Plata (a very short flight) and rent a car there.
Have a great time in our country, seeksocean.
