We have a ski trip planned for February 2020, ironically to the same place where we caught Covid this year. At this point, no money would be lost if we cancel. (Ski pass can be refunded, hotel room can be cancelled, no flights.) That's as much planning as I'm willing to do at this point.

No itinerary, but a lot of trips I want to do, if I live long enough.

I would like to visit my Sister in NZ. She came to the States four years ago and we took a family cruise, but she is 87 and really can’t do another long flight, not sure I can either, but I hope to try.

I want to visit my daughter in St Kitts again for a relaxing few days at Ocean Terrace to swim in their grotto pool.

I want to do one more cruise with my Granddaughter and would also like to take her to Europe, many choices, might combine a cruise with Europe, but would rather do two trips.

There are a half dozen places I would like to visit again with DH, would love to be arriving in Naples or Istanbul, knowing the wonderful things we would have ahead.

When we take walks, we often play a game of, Where would you like to be right at this moment? DH always say’s “ Having breakfast outside in Aix en Provence.” He knows it would be the start of the day or the trip.
I say, “having dinner in St Louis Square in Aigues Mortes, or having dinner outside the Lorelei et Londres in Sorrento.” There are many more dramatic places, but for the moment, just remembering special moments I would like to re-visit is nice.

I have a tentative trip (fingers crossed) for next summer to London/southern England for the Hampton Court Palace flower show and some theatre and special restaurants. I have booked the members-only preview at HCP which was carried over from this year when it was cancelled and two nights hotel in Hampton Court (nothing paid on the hotel yet and hopefully I won't have to cancel but if I do all I'll be out is the ££ for the flower show / my table in the marque)

And, again 'hopefully', 10 days to 2 weeks in South Africa in September.

Welcome to Fodor's!! And do check out the other destination boards for more activity...

I have no plans made yet. But I would like to go to either Hawaii or Mexico (regular destinations for me so little actually planning required) sometime before July 2021 when an Alaska Air voucher expires (from a cancelled Mexico trip March 2020 when things hit the fan)!

Happy planning. And hopefully happy travels suze

Same Jean! Not paying for anything that can't be refunded! Everyone is throwing a travel promotion. My game plan: flexible or dirt cheap flights, accommodation - any Agoda free cancellation or pay later hotel, heck even my taxi is refundable. I just want to go somewhere or do something else. Go away covid

Don't we all? I miss having breakfast somewhere too. Good cup of coffee + Magnificent view.
I miss waking up in a different country, knowing you are on vacay.
I miss having small talks with locals and learning a thing or two about their culture

I'm pretty sure the Japan trip we wanted to do will be out well into 2021 with Australia's borders being shut. And the US road trip we were weighing that trip against will be off the table much longer.

With those sort of in the unpredictable category, we've been talking about taking advantage of a travel bubble being discussed between New Zealand and select Australian states by the end of 2020 Our state is still not open even to other states but it's winding down pretty quickly. We thought it might be a good time to see more of New Zealand, while there are no large international tour groups at Milford Sound and places like that.

make sense. I heard japan is working on their travel bubble too. Not sure if Australia is included.

Hard to say for sure what the future will hold but if there's any spanner in the works in qualifying for any bubble, it's probably our situation here in Melbourne. The strict lockdown has turned things around but it's going to need to be under 5 daily cases before they even let us leave our 5km radius from home. Probably going to need to be near zero on an extended rolling average before the neighbours invite us over again.

I do like the idea of that Japan trip. But the quiet of a campervan around NZ with no tour busses is sounding more and more appealing. Ease back into non-isolation.

CC - have you ever been to NZ? You need to go! And what a wonderful time to do it, before they re-open their borders to the world. I so envy that opportunity.

We shall see.

Only been to Auckland and not really for fun. I really want to see more especially the south island. We've just always been sucked back in by our love of Asia when the time for deciding what to do on holidays actually came around. Love the idea that if we're going to go for nature, that it would be a quiet time.

Not sure how close we are to being able to go but the travel bubble has started. First planeload of Kiwis landed in Sydney today. They're allowed into NSW and NT but it's only unilateral for now. I think they may still have to quarantine when they get back. No Aussies into NZ for now. And we in VIC are probably going to be the very last. We can't even leave the state for now. But we only had 2 cases yesterday in the state and we're at 8.7 cases on the rolling 14-day average.. and that's still the highest in Australia... so maybe soon!

CC - better start planning then. Look forward to seeing you on the South Pacific forum. We love the SI and have been many times. One of the perks of living in Australia is its proximity to NZ.

Do not let yourselves be swayed or distracted by great prices on airlines or cruiselines. If you have done due diligence to keep yourself for 7 months, do not succumb for a "deal."
The countries, cultures, history will not go away. But you might.......

Welcome! I am new here too and also entertaining myself by planning my next trip!
As far as I know Dubai has very few infection compared to other countries however I am pretty sure their border is pretty tight.
Also heard some hotels are closing down for good.
You should check their immigration website.
