I must have missed something somewhere but why the question "Have I never had a man give me a massage"?? Is that so unusual??
If we aren't talking about husbands, and we are talking about a Masseur, NO, I prefer not to have men do a massage.
Here at home, I have a lady that does Shiatsu.
Now Olive, we used to have our huraches made for us in Mexico, once they were made, they kept the foot pattern and we could just order them when we wore the old ones out..those were such comfortable little shoes ~sigh~

Yikes. Socks and sandals is also a Northern California coastline phenomenon. The weather can be 75 degrees mid day, only to drop down into the 50s by late afternoon (it can be in the 50s in the morning too). I think these dudes stash a pair of socks in their backpacks or something--it is all weather related.

P.S.- Nobody wearing socks and sandals in Northern California cares about
New York City fashion formalities (the formalities are just a big fat joke to many)! They care about dressing smart, given the quick shifts in temperature outside.

I also think there is a cosmetic side to this. I have sen men here and in europe look very nice in socks with sandels.(but no, not black) Anyway, this fashion police is Bull UNLES you really care about fashion. I say wear whatever you like. I laugh when Americans say war only black, most French women go for all colors they love. But at thse fashion shows I have been to, some are afraid to wear what they love and feel secure i Black. It's ok but don't think it's a rule. To me it's cocktail hour and funerals but there are always exceptions what you bought and love. Bottom line, wear what you love and feel comfortable in.I know when I have worn something, no matter how appropiate, I had a lousy time. Once I showed up without the formal wear because I was more interested in meeting up with friends I knew who would be there that I hadn't seen in a few years. I looked bad(house painting) but I had one of the best evenings because my friend, the hostess didn't mind that some of her friends were not in the same frame of reference.
I must add, she called why I wasn't there, and she told me come as is.

I am actually annoyed over some of the posts--I really think there is a misconception floating about! I am a female, and let me tell you about the first time I stepped out with a pair of walking sandals on the northern Ca., coastal region, I was fine until about 5 pm--when the temperature took a NOSE DIVE south--the fog rolled in--and I was absolutely FREEZING! It was the absolute LAST DAY I left home in sandals without carrying a pair of socks in my purse. Sorry guys, I do not understand why anyone who is not dealing with severe temperature changes would want to wear socks with sandals...I think they are making some really bizarre fashion statement, but there are those who are dressing for the weather...and, I would not doubt that holds true abroad, too.
