ATTN. LOCALS! Naples relocation info needed!!!

Hi! This is my second post on the same topic..I don't know where the other one went, so if you see it, tell me! Anyway, we are a couple in our early 40's (no children) who is looking to relocate to the Naples area. We are an internationally-minded couple, who also likes the finer things. We are very much into natural/organic lifestyle. Do you recommend any areas/communities in the Naples area that would be best for us? We are not hi-rise type people, and would prefer a single family home or villa in a quiet area that is rather private. Lots of greenery is a plus. Nature trails, walking trails, the beach, all interest us. We like good food, especially international cuisine, but also healthful living. In addition to walking in nature, we also like horseback riding (me) and tennis (husband). We would like to be not too far from the thick of things (shopping restaurants, etc), but not to live directly in the busy area. Any advice would be greatly welcomed! Thanks, Linda

Do you have a budget for housing? As you may know, Naples was recently named the most over valued housing market in the country. You cannot find a single family home in Collier County for less than $300,000. For that price, your choices are east of I-75 in the Golden Gate area. If you don't need to drive into Naples during the typical commuting drive times, it will be fine. If you need to drive into Naples between 6:30am and 8:3oam, plan on a long commute! To purchase a home near the beach, plan on starting at $1,000,000.
You will fine a large variety of restaurants in Naples but off the top of my head, I can't think of an organic restaurant in town. We have one market, Sunplash, that caters to the organic lifestyle and a few health food stores located around town. There are many ethnic restaurants, more seem to pop up every week.

Thanks for the info. Our housing budget stops at 1,000,000. We would prefer something smaller and nicer to something that is too large for the 2 of us. A 2000 max. square foot house should well be enough. Any ideas on locale? Upon preliminary research, Pelican Bay or Bonita Bay look good to us. Am I right in seeing that they are pretty "green" areas? I think we would rather be closer to the beach if possible to avoid those long commutes. I remember Tamiami Trail unfondly.

We like both Pelican Bay and Bonita Bay. Probably favor Bonita Bay but only because that was the first upscale community I was familiar with. You would like them both as they both have lots of green spaces.

Neither is in Naples if that matters. If you are looking as far north as Bonita Bay there are other communities that you might be interested in.

If you want any detailed info, let me know as I have access to the MLS system.

Here is a visitors' website to the Naples area Multiple Listing System so you can see home prices in different areas.
