Best international first class airline

I have an opportunity to go to Europe on first class tickets. I can choose any airline I want and my company will pay for them. I know....how nice!
In your opinion, which airline offers the best service/amenities. I am only familiar with the domestic carriers, (i.e. AA Triple 777 is suppose to be pure luxury)
I would like to hear about Lufthasa, Virgin Atlantic, etc.
Please let know what you think.

You might want to ask this on the Europe board. Agree with tj about the waste of money. Have fun.

That would be Royal Dutch Norwegian.

There is absolutely no debate that Singapore Air is the world's best carrier. They win the readers' polls like clockwork year in and year out.
Cathay Pacific is next.
Unfortunately that won't help you get to Europe.

Of the carriers you mentioned, Virgin Atlantic's FC is best.
You know, you can check this kind of thing out for yourself. Go the websites of the major carriers and they'll give you details and photos regarding FC and BC.

With all the different forums listed you chose the United States? Don't you think this question would be better posted on the airplane forum or even Europe?

I posted this question on the US forum because since my flight will originate in the US, I would get opinions from US travelers familiar with international flights. Maybe not. Thanks to those who answered my question.

I won't feel any pity for Katie when she's laid off when intellysis runs out of money after such foolish corporate spending. I thought those days were over...

x,
Sounds like sour grapes to me. If you've got it flaunt it! If it's offered to you, take it!

Too many corporate officers who are accustomed to "flaunting it" will soon be flaunting it in a cell block.

Katie-
You really should post on the Europe forum, but my vote goes to Continental's BusinessFirst service, hands down. And I'm not alone in this opinion - they keep winning awards. Their 777's and 767's are terrific, and they have the youngest fleet in the business.

So let me see, Katie posted this question on the US forum since her international flight will originate from the US. Does that mean I should post my questions about the US on the European forum since my trip will originate from there? This is sooo confusing.

Katie- I take it from your post, you are heading for LONDON since you mentioned Virgin Atlantic---

THEIR food is AWESOME in First Class- We normally fly VA in Business Class but got bumped up to First....

WE had rack of Lamb that was like eating at a 5 star restaurant....

PLUS they have a FULL SERVICE BAR with bartender and seats that you can walk up too...

In addition, the offer FREE massages on the flights by an accredited masseuse..

I have flown BA to London but VA beats ANYTHING I have ever FLOWN!!!!!!

GO FOR IT!

Jack is right - Singapore Air is the best in the world. They do have a few US to Europe routes now (Newark, JFK, Chicago gateways) so give them a try. You will be very pleased that you did.

Clearly, Katie is a troll. While I think this is an interesting thread and who cares where it's posted, no one would actually post the name of the company in their e-mail with such a dubious assertion. So to Katie I say, crawl back in your troll hole, and dig your way to Europe since I suspect that's the only way you know how. I further suspect someone's got a bone to pick with Intellisys....

Hi Katie,

While I rate Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class service as better than most airlines business class, it is Business Class and NOT first class. They do not advertise it as first but aim it as better than BA's Club World or other business class.

Singapore Airlies I think flys to Amsterdam from New York or Chicago and is supposed to be very good in first.

BA's First Class is also supposed to be amongst the best.

I do not know that much about the US airlines transatlantic First class service so I will not comment.

I would check out www.flyertalk.com and look at the Miles section and check out the trip reports as well as the individual airlines forums.

Have a great flight (lucky you!!)

Regards
Gregory

Regards

Whew! Just checked my message and I'm the one confused!! I have no idea of what you are talking about....just trying to decide on the best airline. Intellysis is the name of my local internet service...GM is the co.
Thanks to those who are kind and answered my question honestly.
I've decided on AA 777 from DFW to London.

Katie

I just flew from DFW to London Gatwick on AA 777 in business class and I'm here to tell you it was wonderful. I hadn't been in my seat 2 minutes when the stewardess came up and said, "Mr. Morgan, would you like orange juice or champagne?" I knew right then and there that i had done good. ( bad English intentional )

The food was excellent and the service outstanding, but then, for $7000 US per ticket I should drink a Grand Cru Chablis with my appetizer and a nice Bordeaux with my medium well steak, along with my Bose Noise Reduction head phones...oh yeah...you picked well...and you are doing first class....go girl!
