Best Luau in Maui
My family & I are going to Maui, beginning of Aug. & would like to go to a luau. Anyone know which is the best one, since there seem to be a few? Also, we are staying at the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, any feedback on that?

Kudos to you on picking the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We have stayed there twice and have reservations there for next spring. We wouldn't go to Hawaii and stay anywhere else. It is a great place to stay, and I think you will really enjoy it. Make sure that you check out some of the hawaiian activites. We really enjoyed the Lau printing and lei making. The staff is great and very attentive. The rooms are ample in size and very comfortable but not "luxurious". However, you really won't be in your room that much. We went to the Old Lahina Luau both times. We really enjoyed it. Next time we are going to try The Feast at Lele. Email me if you have any other specific questions about the hotel. [email protected]

I think they are both good for different reasons. Feast of Lele is a sit down more elegant kind of dinner service and more intimate show. I picture it for a romantic dinner for 2 rather than a large family gathering (we were 9 people celebrating my folks 50th at OLL).

Thanks all, for your input. There will also be another family with us so, I think the Old Lahaina Luau will be best for us. My sister also recommended it. I'm also glad to hear that the hotel is good too. Thanks again.

Old Lahaina Luau may be the favorite of many posters, but I would rather go to one that has a fire knofe dancer. That is the highlight of any Polynesian show. For that reason alone, I would choose a different luau.

My husband and I returned from Maui in June. We stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel and loved it. It is an older hotel but is beautifully maintained. It does not have that big hotel feel, which we liked. I know there were a lot of people staying there but it never seemed crowded. We also went to the Feast at Le Le and would give it thumbs up! We decided on the Feast because we wanted a table to ourselves and no buffet. The food was very good and the show was excellent. You will not be disappointed with this luau.
