Best time to book hotel/flight to Las Vegas?

Thanks to all the informative replies from my 1st post about wanting to see the Grand Canyon, ect. my hubby and I plan to fly in to Vegas towards the end of June. We'll fly out of Pittsburgh International Airport.

I've been on Expedia and see we can get a reasonably nice hotel plus airfare for the two of us for about $800-900. Does this sound like a good buy? Should I book now, or are there better bargains to be had?

southwest.com lots better deal sout of PIT usually like
Luxor Las Vegas
Save up to $50, Plus Receive up to 2 Show Tickets!
3 nights + flight from
$88*Excludes taxes and fees.
So might shop around for better deals there.
grandcanyontours.com for options to the Canyon.

What hotel are you staying at for $800-900?

I usually check package price, and then check prices separately to see which one's cheaper.

Usually use the expedia flight calendar to find lower flight prices, as i'm usually flexible with flight dates, then i use www.mycheapvegas.com for promo codes.

Compare added cost with package cost and book whichever cheaper. Also really depends on the hotels as well. I find something like the Wynn is cheaper as a package like 90% of the time.

Allegiant Airline has great package deals to LV and other cities. The farthest east city they fly to LV from is Knoxville Tennessee. http://www.allegiantair.com/aaRouteMapStatic.php
Rarely do you find a better deal for a trip to Las Vegas.

For Vegas your best price will be if you don't fly Fri going or Sun return. And if you don't stay on Fri or Sat night. Your best "bargain' will prob be leaving Pit early Sun and returning Thurs.

qwovadia, I will check out SW's website for deals.

Blizzard, the $800 price I found on expedia is for both airfare plus hotel, say, for example, the Luxor or the Tropicana hotel, plus taking a United flight.

tracy, I will try to plug in a few different days of the week to see what gives us the best offer.

We are not frequent fliers. I'm new to planning this kind of trip, and still trying to determine what is a good value.
