Best Western National Parks Tour Operators AZ NV UT

Hello Travelers - I'm looking to find out who some of the better National Parks tour operators are out west. Me and my wife have never done this type of tour but have been out West and we want to start in AZ at the Grand Canyon and finish in UT. We are in our young 50's and we want to explore the parks we stop at and not just stop for pictures and a gift shop so any help from people who have done this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I haven't (I drive when in the area) but my cousin took a tour with Caravan that had a great itinerary (if one 'must' do a tour). 1 night Phoenix, 2 nights South rim, 2 nights lake Powell, 2 nights Zion. All accommodations were good - Thunderbird lodge, the resort at lake Powell and 2 nights at the Lodge in Zion. Then dropped her at Vegas to fly home.

No one night stands, included stops/tours in Sedona, Monument Valley, and Bryce, etc.

Apparently is was very reasonably priced.

Is there a particular reason you want to do this through a tour operator and not make arrangements yourself?

If you're concerned about key details like where to stay, visit, eat etc, there are enough AZ/UT experts who frequent this forum on Fodors who will make it easy for you. (emalloy, vaga, stanton, etc to name a few)

If you self schedule you'd have to do the driving, but with that comes more flexibility as well.

another vote for self drive. the flexibility is invaluable. you'll probably find many more great things than if on tour with some set itinerary company. just returned from 8 days in Vegas, Arizona, and Utah.any planning Q's just ask

Just depends -- driving IS best for most people. But if for some reason one can't or doesn't want to drive, a tour is fine. Just make sure it isn't all one nighters and mostly 'drive-by's'
