Boston - where to park for day + Bosox game
Hi there,
We're travelling to Boston this weekend and on Friday we had planned on parking at the Boston Common garage, doing the Freedom Trail, etc., taking the subway to the Bosox game, then picking our car up after the game. However, it appears as though the garage is only open til 7pm on the weekdays. Is Friday considered at weekday and therefore we wouldn't be able to get our car after the game? Can you recommend other parking arrangements? FYI - we are staying in Woburn.
Thanks!
Alanna

just to emphasize what Bennnie and anonymous said, you can certainly get your car at any time. I'm sure I've gotten my car out of that garage at 1AM.
do NOT try to move your car to the Fenway park area. Parking on game nights costs about $30, depending on the location, and traffic around there is pretty awful.

Where are you coming from?
You could park at the Riverside T Lot off 128/95 and catch the green line T into town. Go to Park Street. Then after the game the same T line (outbound) goes out to Riverside. Much cheaper than parking in town and has the benefit that after the game it will be easier to get "out of Boston".

Thanks for the advice. We'll be coming from the Woburn area and would likely want to park in Boston Common so we can stop at the car to grab a few things, get rid of shopping etc., before the game.

Another convenient parking garage is in the Prudential center. Can walk to Freedom Trail and Fenway Park (they even have reduced rates if you show your ticket stub). There is also good shopping/eating in the Copley Sq, Prudential, Newbury St area.
