burnham hotel to airport

we will be going to the airport on monday to pick up a car. (will be arriving in chicago on sat - assume not as much traffic to take a cab to hotel)?

since we have some flexibility as to time, when would you suggest we go to avoid afternoon rush hour. both before and after.
would probably go by cab- luggage and other issues.

Your hotel is a block away from a blue line stop. Just take the "L" to O'Hare.

I agree, we are just back in Australia after a visit to Chicago we were first timers and used the "L" both ways. For a $1.75 you can't go wrong.

We don't want to use the L. would appreciate it if someone actually answered the question of when rush hour starts and ends in the afernoon.

thanks

"would appreciate it if someone actually answered the question of when rush hour starts and ends in the afernoon."

Nice attitude. I'm sure the responders are sorry they bothered.

Try this. Rush hour actually starts when the gun goes off at 3:07 pm. It ends exactly at 7:03 pm. After that you can no longer rush.

Hope this helps.

no your response doesn't really help. if you read our original question it mentions that we have some issues and would probably take a cab. since those are health related and personal I didn't think I had to spell them out in order to get an answer to my question. I am happy the "L" works so for many people but that was not what I wanted to know.

If you are in a wheelchair, the Clark St. CTA station and the O'hare station are wheelchair accessible.

As for rush hour, that is a crap shoot. From 3pm to 7pm would be close to rush hour. But 5 times out of ten it will be gridlock at all hours of the day.

Goodluck

Saturday inbound into the city gets bad in mid-afternoon.

To avoid Monday rush hour, go between 11 and 2.
