Christmas in Walt Disney World

Hi,
I am planning travel with my family (my wife and 2 kids) to WDW this Christmas. My co worker told me it is very beautiful at that time. I know it will be super crowd. Can anyone share their experience with me? How's the weather in late Dec in Orlando? Can we still enjoy the pool in the afternoon?
Thanks

Take a look at the website www.mouseplanet.com. There are trip reports on this site and I remember reading one not too long ago about a WDW trip during the Christmas holidays.

Christmas is a pretty time at Disney. One thing you might want to do is go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It's a very nice evening with a Xmas theme. I've been many times and love it!

The weather in Florida is unpredictable in December. One day it might be in the 50's..the next in the 80's. It's not something you can give a definitive answer to. Bring your swimsuit anyways. Chances are you will spend one day at the pool, especially if you ar used to colder weather.

We visited over New Years twice. I enjoyed the Christmas decorations. But I remember on January 2nd, Disney started taking the decoration down. The weather is typically springlike requiring a jacket of some sort (especially at night). The water parks were closed. It was too cold for swimming. Once in late January, we swam in Orlando. The only unpleasant memory we had was the one day of rain, but that could happen anywhere. If you are not looking for guaranteed swimming and warm weather, I recommend Christmas as a different taste of Disney. Overall, we enjoyed it.

We've been to WDW during the Christmas holidays twice. We expected lighter crowds, but attendance was actually quite heavy. It seems many other people thought the same way we did. Anyway, weather can sometimes be very nice and other times cool and gusty. Take a jacket just in case.

Both times we went to Disney we went the beginning of December. Found the weather to be unpredictable. Warm during the day, sometimes rainy and sweatshirts needed after dark ( I guess that's always been my experience with Florida) But Disney at Christmas can't be beat. We didn't find it too terribly crowded either. Have a good trip, just be prepared for cooler weather especially after dark. We had to purchase sweatshirts, but then I just came back from Key West and had to purchase a sweatshirt there too! Go figure.........

We were at THE WORLD last Dec. 24, 25, 26 and it was quite cool. We wore sweatshirts AND jackets. It rained on the 24th - seemed like the heavens just opened up! It is beautiful, though and you should plan to go to Epcot to see the Candelight Processional - breath taking!
