Thanks for the wonderful replies! We really did have a wonderful time, more than what I was originally expecting.
BTW, we were able to replace DD's phone at minimal cost with a 'customer retention' offer! Losing that phone was the best possible thing that could happen to this trip.

What an incredible trip report! I really need to take that kind of trip with my 19 yo. Losing the cell phone was probably the best thing that could have happened to you both! It is definitely hard to get and keep their attention when the phone is ringing or the texts are coming in! Your writing style is so interesting. Hold your memories close.
