Do you like Delsey or Rimowa ultralight hardsided wheeled luggage?
Hi,
I'm in need of unbreakable but lightweight luggage. Is Rimowa worth the premium? It costs about twice as much as Delsey.
It also appears that while Delsey has a telescoping handle that is adjustable (I'm tall), Rimowa does not.
Delsey's two-wheeled base looks more maneuverable, but it also looks more likely to tip over.
Any comments or recommendations? I appreciate it. Thanks!

I have had Delsey luggage for years & LOVE it. Am not familiar w/Rimowa, but unless there is some major advantage to it, I'd go for the Delsey. One thing -- my suitcase is huge, & with the airlines clamping down on luggage weight, I find I have to be VERY careful about what/how much I pack. If I find I'm running close/over, I simply get a cardboard box, line it with plastic, throw any excess items in it, & check it as my second "bag." Not glamorous, but my items arrive dry & secure!

I just searched for new luggage. I wanted something really light, sturdy, with a good warranty and in a color that would stand out in baggage claim. I bought this and am awaiting its arrival [it's a discountinued color PEAR; buy I was looking for color. Pathfinder Revolution LT

Thanks, all. Looking over the choices, I think I may get one hardsided and one rolling duffel. What I don't like about hard sided suitcases is the lack of exterior pockets.
Delsey looks good, although those five fewer pounds on Rimowa are really tempting. It's hard to find any comments on Rimowa, it's so expensive, not many people buy it I guess.

I just got rid of 2 rolling duffles [big ones]. Trouble with them, if they are not full, when you pick them up by handle and roll them -- all the clothes and contents roll down to the bottom and you end up with a ball of stuff that gets really squished. IMHO

Thanks. What I think I want is one hard sided -- super hard but lightweigh -- and one superlight with at least some pockets on the outside. Thanks for pointing out the problem with duffels.

fall06, will you follow up with which luggage you decide on?
And can someone explain to me the benefit of buying expensive luggage? With the exception of a few pieces, I usually buy our luggage at TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Most have worn well and lasted for years. I invest for carry on only and have not invested further due to fear of a good piece being lost, stolen or damaged. Thoughts?
