Well, what do you like to do? And when are you coming?

The White Mountains in NH are beautiful in the fall. And there is some great hiking. Boston is a great city with lots to do. You could go west into the Berkshires. Or stay in a VT B&B. Take a trip to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. Go to Newport, RI.

I just need more info to help you.

Depends on the time of year you will be travelling.

We like to do the Cliff Walk in Newport. It is a bit less touristy than just seeing the mansions and you can follow up with a great meal in town.

The Cape is great, off-season. But that is a bit of a trek from Danbury. How far are you willing to drive beyond Danbury? An Hour??? Two?? That will make a huge difference in the suggestions to be made.

I love Vermont and the White Mountains in NH. Portsmouth also. Of course there's Boston too. And we live near Newburyport so I'm partial to it. Newport, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Block Island, Foxwoods, the Berkshires, the Cape. So many great destinations that its hard to say. All will give you enjoyment. Like others have said, tell us what you like to do and we can be more specific.

How long do you have and how far are you willing to travel?

If you want to stay close by and don't have much time, I'd go to Litchfield (Kent, Salisbury, Cornwall) and Lake Waramaug.

If you have more time, Nantucket, Newport, or Block Island.

I would definitely not go inland unless you're pressed for time, the coast is too pretty.
