Femont Street/Neonopolis -What's wrong?
Last night I got a wild hair and decided to go downtown. I had a great time people watching and jumping from place to place to have a drink. There were several live bands and the whole place had a festive atmosphere.
Still, people don't seem to like going downtown anymore? What's up with that? Any comments?

I always go downtown at least once but I'm in LV, but I'm almost always approached by a panhandler when walking from the parking lot to the nearest casino and that gets a little depressing. I've also seen a lot of rough types that I don't feel safe around. That's why I don't spend much time there.

Just can't compete with the glamour and glitz of the mid-strip. Maybe once they extend the monorail to downtown, it will be easily accessible and more people will take the time to check it out. They've made their mark by catering to the budget crowd and serious gamblers and that's what they'll get. Also, some of the other locals casinos (stations, orleans, GVR) are competing well against downtown and the strip.
