There are no separate boards.
When anyone posts a new thread, they can choose one or more states as keywords, so the thread will show up when people search for a given keyword. Since you are apparently reading the board by searching separately for several state-specific keywords, those threads show up in more than one of your searches.
Topcs like the Travel Channel and defunct amusement parksare of interest in many or even all states.

That's one of the problems caused by threads such as "Name your top 5 cities" and the like. They become useless search results when someone is trying to research Ashtubula. The only message areas are the ones you see when you click the dropdown box at the top of the message list "US, Asia, Europe... etc"

virginia: As Anonymous says - there are no separate boards. Just one United States forum. If a thread shows up by clicking on it has to do w/ the original poster, not on the Fodors editors.
When you click on a state before posting a new thread, it just sets up the thread so someone seeking info about that state can find the thread.
But many people don't do that so their threads won't be located that way. And many people click on multiple states so theirs threads will show up whichever state is clicked.
If you are looking for info about a specific state - be sure to skim the entire forum and not just rely on clicking on the state.

Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and if a question is asked about him it will show up on the entire US board. Alaska, Alabama, etc. are not boards. United States, Europe, etc. are boards. Did the questions show up on the Europe board? There is nothing to fix.
