Fresh Herbs
I am giving a program to a ladies study club and the the topic is "Gardening". This is an older group of women and I don't think many of them are going to get into heavy gardening so I thought I would talk about Herbs. Growing them in containers, etc.
My problem is trying to find fresh herb plants in Feb in our part of the states.
Does anyone have any good experience in ordering fresh plants?
Thank you for your help.

If you are going to order them look for a grower in Texas. Are you actually planting them? Why? Just tell them hnow to do it. Different ones to put in pots for looks and yield. I don't get it. You don't need to actually do it. Our garden club does this all the time, in preparation for spring.

I still advise posting this in the Lounge -- but, what part of the country do you live? Aren't herbs available year round? because people do grow herbs indoors year round.
I'm in California so wouldn't face this issue - but for instance a garden center up at Lake Tahoe where they get 12+ feet of snow and below zero temps- they still sell herbs for indoor pots.

Thanks to all for your helpful replies!
I did mean to post this in the Lounge...sorry for mistake.
I have already checked all of our local garden centers, lowes, etc. I can, of course find fresh herbs at the grocery but I wanted to have plants. I wanted to have a couple of containers already planted with 3-4 herb combinations in each and then use them as door prizes.
I appreciate your help.
