Half Moon Bay Hotel

Anyone familiar with a nice, but reasonably priced Bed and Breakfast or smaller hotel in Half Moon Bay? A friend is going down for family business and doesn't care for big resorts. Thank you !

The Beach House is very nice. It's right next to Maverick, which is the best surfing spot in the area.

what would they like, the Beach House is on the breakwater, next to a public beach, in Princeton the fishing/port atmosphere, B&B's in town, motels and lodges, Ritz Carlton, Pescadero B&B's and Castonoa camping or lodging. What style would be enjoyed?

They like a quieter atmosphere, away from crowds. Again, not too expensive, since they are going for family business mainly. Any suggestions (web sites) would be appreciated.

We once stayed at Cypress Inn - Miramar Beach. The only website with pictures that I could fine is
www.jans-journeycom/cypress/ This place was built to be a bed and breakfast so there's no quaint, home-like feeling. Rather, it seems very new and modern. Our room looked right out onto the beach and ocean (although there is a footpath between you and the beach). The sunsets were gorgeous. I'm not sure if they still have it, but when we were there it included breakfast which was wonderful. OH! Almost forgot our favorite part, an on-the-premises massage with a view of the ocean! Good luck!

What about Harbor House B & B? Is $150 or so too much? Here's the site: http://www.harborhousebandb.com/index.htm

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Zabala House a few years ago. It was a relatively inexpensive, casual place. It's right on Main Street, so it's close to shops and restaurants. The people were friendly, our room was comfortable, not fancy, but it had a comfortable bed, a gas fire place and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. There was also a cat named Bill who slept at the foot of our bed one night. The breakfast was good - juice, coffee, tea, fruit, breakfast breads, eggs, and whaffles.
