Help, just goofed and lost my entire reply!

I just finished a fairly long reply and was in the middle of previewing it. I somehow managed to accidentally hit a key next to the arrow keys. Now, it appears my reply is just gone. I'll admit I'm not very computer savy. Is there a way to retrieve my reply? I spent quite a bit of time on it. Thanks to you PC experts out there.

It may be too late but you could try the "back" arrow. The what arrow in the blue circle left hand side of this window, top of the screen pointing, toward the left. That takes you "back" to your previous screen. With luck, it might be the one with the writing. That could be late this time (since you've posted again and moved around a bit) but next time try it right away.

Other thing if you know you're writing a long reply or something you will want to save for the future, do it in Word and "cut & paste" it onto the post.

As far as I know, if you type something in the reply box but DID NOT post it; then move on to the next page, the BACK button will take you back to an empty reply box on Fodors.

suze and yk, thanks a lot for the suggestions, but nothing is working. I think it's too late and I'll just have to re-do my reply. You can bet I'll do the next long one in Word and "cut & paste" it!

if this sort of thing happens to you often, there are firefox add-ons that will save the text you were typing, as you type it. Then if you hit reply again, you get it all back. I believe this is one such:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6419
I'll say, I used to use one of these, but I found it annoying because I had to DELETE the text every time I started to type.

No, this doesn't happen to me often at all....that's why I'm so frustrated with myself! I usually feel I'm being very careful. Thanks china_cat that maybe something to look into for the future.
