Help with restaurant in Pittsburgh

We are in Pittsburgh for parents weekend at CMU. Would love to take our son to a steak restaurant for dinner tomorrow. Reading reviews I can't get a good feel for what is good. Can anyone help?

The steak house that is the rave right now seems to be the Capital Grill, which is downtown.

I haven't been yet (am saving my pennies) but I understand the service is outstanding and the food isn't too shabby.

Pittsburgh Rare?
Sorry. Usually do not go out for steak in Pittsburgh.
Good luck.
Jerome Bettis 36 is supposed to have a really great steak, I think it is some ridiculous size but very good.
The service is spotty, though.

We usually always choose a restaurant for not only the food but the view. In Pittsburgh we took the Incline to the top of the hill where the rivers and Pittsburgh are laid out before you. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, but they do have a steak house on what they call Restaurant Row and the views are wonderful. http://incline.pghfree.net/restaurants.htm

Thanks for the suggestions. Sher, I ended up calling Capital Grill again told them we were here to take our son out and they worked us in. So would recommend them just for that. We lived in Houston for 25 years so the steaks were just okay since we are a bit picky but he really enjoyed having a real meal. Went to Grand Concourse for brunch today so, I think we filled him up for a few days! Would gladly take more suggestions for restaurants for future visits. Thanks again, on our way to nyc to visit daughter now on her break!

Hi flit,
Check out Le'Mont Restaurant which is in Mount Washington (top of the incline).

Le' Mont Restaurant (American and French Cuisine)
1114 Grandview Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15211-1314
(412) 431-3100
Business Casual.

Not only a great restaurant, but a beautiful view.

Good luck!

Your son doesn't want steak! Take him to Tessaro's for a burger he will never forget! Seriously. The food there is amazing. Cannot recommend it highly enough!
