Hyatt Maui or Sheraton Maui
HELP....we love the beach so The Sheraton would be obvious but we want the luxury of a 5 star resort. Why does the Hyatt have a 5 star rating and the Sheraton a 4 star..Very confused.

I'd stay at the Sheraton in Maui over the Hyatt. I've been to both and I think the Hyatt has gone downhill over the past few years. Still a *nice* place, but I don't think it's worth the $$$. Their pool area is still great, but the Sheraton's beach is a much better attraction. I'd stick to the Sheraton.

Just returned from a stay at the Hyatt today. It was nice with a lot of amenities. If you have family it was great. I did not hang out at the beach, but walked down there to get to the athletic center. It did not appear to be too much of it. However, they all connect via a beach path. Drove down to the Sheraton and it appears to be OK. Neither are grand hotels and are a part of a strip of hotels in Kaanapali along the beach. Sandwiched in between is Whalers Village.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Stay at the Four Seasons. It is a luxury property (very nice rooms)with great service on a wonderful beach! This property is in Wailea, where the hotels are placed a nice distance apart from each other and the landscaping is very pretty.
