Jupiter Spring Training 3/12
Son and I going to Jupiter. Suggestions for reasonable hotels? B & B would be okay too. Areas to avoid to be safe? First and maybe only chance to go. Other sights not to miss? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There really isn't much in Jupiter besides horse farms. There is a new comfort inn that just opened, can't be too bad. Stay away from Riviera beach. If you aren't from Florida there are some nice beach parks==John D McArthur has a preety neat boardwalk and nature trails. Bathtub beach isn't too bad.

There are a ton of hotels on Singer Is. Riveria Beach is the town just inland and it's not nice but Singer Is. is fine...you could also look north around Juno Beach and W. Palm Beach isn't far unless you will be without a car (which I don't suggest as Florida is a very car-dependant state)
Lorrie is right--MacArthur State Park is wonderful and last time I went it was quiet and peaceful.
Sorry that I can't give more specific hotel suggestions. I used to live there and things might have changed...why don't you check out tripadvisor.com and get ratings?

Nothing but horse farms ? I beg to differ.... maybe it has been awhile since you have been in the area. For hotels you can search Jupiter or Juno Beach. There is Jupiter Beach Resort which is nice. Other non-beach hotels are Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn (both are across the street from the beach), The Waterford in Palm Beach Gardens is a former Comfort Inn and about 10 min from stadium, Wellesley Inn in Jupiter on the intracoastal is close and good location, there are also hotels within 10 min drive that are in Palm Beach Gardens and near lots of restaurant and a mall and on I-95 - Marriott, Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Hampton Inn. Jupiter or Juno are good locations and there are many good places to (reasonable) to eat and are close to the beach and the stadium... no need to go to Singer Island (nothing there but hotels and condos). I live and work in the area and will be happy to help with other info if you need it. The stadium is at I-95 at Donald Ross Rd exit (Juno Beach) and is 5 minutes from the beach ! I would opt for Wellesley or Hampton Inn in Juno Beach. Let me know if I can help !

You might want to consider one of the upscale B & Bs in West Palm Beach...there are 2 and both are walking distance into CityPlace, which is the rejuvenated area with a pedestrian zone, outdoor cafes and restaurants, theaters, department stores etc etc. Try either Grandview Gardens Bed & Breakfast, which is more like a mini resort, or Palm Beach Hibiscus B & B (more urban in character)....both very nice.

The horses and many growers are in ‘Jupiter Farms’ located several miles west of Jupiter. You may like to check out the Best Western in Jupiter on US 1. The hotel was remodeled last year and it has a lovely location on the Intercoastal and right next to the River walk. You will be very close to shopping, theaters and parks. It takes just a couple of minutes to drive to the beach and many restaurants are close by.
The Jupiter Reef Club (time share), located right on the beach, may be another option. The Jupiter Beach Resort mentioned previously is very lovely and right on the beach, but it is probably the most expensive option. It has an excellent location and you can walk to stores and restaurants. The beaches in Jupiter and Juno Beach are lovely. I have no idea what ‘Bathtub beach’ is.
I agree with flbronc. Singer Island is a long drive to the stadium. West Palm is even further. There is no need to go there. I would try to stay in Jupiter or Juno Beach. Don’t speed in Jupiter!
