Kauai - Best Rooms at the Princeville Resort
Hi,
Does anybody have an opinion on the rooms at the Princeville Resort?
It seems the best room options are a partial ocean view, ocean view or a junior suite.
We'll be staying there for our honeymoon next August so any inside tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The rooms at the princeville are very nice. Keep in mind that the rooms don't have a hawaiian feel but rather a European feel...beautiful marble bathroom, no balcony. Although I didn't stay in any of the rooms you described, I was very pleased with my mountainview room at the princeville. We had a beautiful view of the bali hai mountains and a waterfall. I don't think you can go wrong. All of the rooms at the princeville have a spectacular view. I'm sure the oceanview would be the best.

I understand that there are a few rooms other than suites that have lanai's. Do you know what category these are in? Do the windows in the room open more than a few inches? The reason I ask is that my husband smokes cigars and I can't tolerate the smell.

Hi there--we had an ocean view room with a lanai and would highly recommend it. We did not have a suite but our room was a nice size with a separate sitting area. The views are incredible--the hotel restaurant has a beautiful lanai with terrific views of the mountains...there are hammocks tied between palm trees near the beach...I hope you enjoy a wonderful honeymoon--congratulations!

We stayed (in Sept) on the 2 floor overlooking ocean, and mountains. We loved it. I did not want a straight ocean view when I had fantastic Bali Hai to look at. It was wonderful and I glad we did not have a lanai. We opened our window everynight and enjoyed the wonderful sunset. When it rained it was great. Our nest hotel on Oahu had a lanai and we hardly used it. When you opened the window you saw sky, in Kauai you could sit on the window seat and see everything while being in your room. I do not know but I liked it soooo much better. The windows do open up all the way. I just loved our location! Have fun!

Hi beej74--we were on the first floor and in looking at my pictures taken from our room it would be safer to say we had an ocean / mt. view as in the distance the island juts out, where the Napali Coast is, and is clearly visible in my pics. I distinctly remember seeing couples on lanais above us. Another treat, tents on the beach used for outdoor massage. Hope this helps--enjoy!
