Kea Lani - Best Rooms to request?

Hello,

We are staying at the Kea Lani Feb. 12-22 for our wedding/honeymoon. For those of you that have stayed there, is there a specific room or floor that you would recommend that we request? Is there a part of the hotel we should try to avoid? We have a partial ocean view room booked. Any help is much appreciated!

We have stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani several times. You will thouroughly enjoy your stay. Do not have a specific room or location to recommend as everything is wonderful. But I know they have been going through and redecorating the rooms with new furnishings, etc. Might want to request one of the rooms that has already been redecorated. (not that the other rooms are inferior in any way - but newer is always nice!!)

Some of the rooms face the parking lot areas (as is with all hotels). However, the one thing to be careful for is the air conditioning equipment. It's located right outside one of the wings of the building.

Ask about it and make sure you're no where near it. It's loud.

We had a partial Ocean View room when we were married there 6 years ago, but it was on the south end of the buildings. It had a wrap around balcony. This was nice because we had a view of the mountains and the ocean and it was so lovely for breakfast in the morning. So my vote is to ask for this room.

Not all of the rooms had such large balconies because we stayed there 5 days and went to Oahu, hated it there and went right back to Kea Lani. They tried to upgrade us to an Ocean View room but the balcony was dissappointing and view not much better then the Partial. So we ended up going back to our original room.

We stayed in partial ocean view room two years ago. Join the Fairmont President's Club (FF club) and you will get a certificate for an automatic room upgrade. We were on the second floor and our view was obstructed by a palm tree. So, I'd ask for a room higher than the trees so that your view would be better. We overlooked the pool and could see the ocean in the distance.

We stayed in a mountain view room this summer and it faced south looking over the street that ran along side the hotel. We noticed that there are lots across the street that are in the process of being developed, not sure if they are condos or private homes but if that is the case you might want to avoid that end of the hotel. We were snooping around one day and took the elevator to the top floor and found that they are in the process of remodeling the upper two floors, at least on the south end of the property. The only way we noticed was by going up there, there was no noise etc. Hope you can put this info to use! Our room was not in a prime location but it was still great. It is a beautiful hotel, make sure you eat at Nick's and have a pizza at Cafe Ciao. Congratulations and have a wonderful Wedding/Honeymoon!
