Key West
My husband and I are going to Key West in early April. I've only stoped on a cruise ship for a few hours once and have always wanted to return. Do you have any sugestions on fun things to do? We are stayinga at the Casa Marina Resort -any comments on the hotel? We like to do most anything and will have a car to drive north through the Keys -any stops not to be missed?

Hi -
I have stayed at the Casa Marina and loved it. The room we had was absolutely excellent and the staff was superb. My only complaint is the pool is usually overrun with noisy kids.
Wyndham also has the Reach, and you can walk a block through a residential area, past Louie's Backyard, to the back gate at the pool area and go to the pool there, too. We have never been asked if where we were staying, unless we were putting drinks or food on the room account.
To get yourself reacquainted with the island, I would take the Old Town Trolley tour and then decide from there.
Have a wonderful time!!

Alice's at La-Te-Da for dinner, Mangoes for lunch, the Blond Giraffe for key lime pie and a sunset cruise are the things that I always suggest. We did a day trip driving up to Key Largo and back. If you have a convertible, be careful, I was sunburned before we ever got to Key Largo (and that was last March). Have Fun!!

I went to Key West in July, 2001. I highly recommend taking a snorkeling trip out to the coral reef--it's beautiful. For food, there are so many great places in town. 5 Brothers has excellent Cuban sandwhiches (called a Cuban mix)! If you like Italian food, Mangia Mangia is terrific! I also recommend El Siboney for Cuban food--the food is wonderful and the prices can't be beat. Most places in Key West are expensive, but here, you get a great meal at an even better price.
