Actually, I stayed at the Hyatt in Oct. for $165 a night...balcony overlooked the ocean and was next door to the very overpriced Galleon.

October is off season for Key West. June is shoulder season and still busy.

The Gardens has suites.
Island City House has parlor suites w/kitchens.
Heron House has mini fridges only.

You might also want to check with some of the rental companies and see what you can find.

You might also want to check Center Court.

x-Rates do down on May 1 except Holdiay weekends.

IMO, it would be best to call these places, they may give you a break for a 2 week rental.

Christiane - we go to Key West a couple of times a year (two weeks each trip) to do exactly what you plan on doing: nothing! We get a condo at the Galleon with a balcony overlooking the marina and just sit around reading and reveling in the lack of activity. It's quiet on the marina side, too...unlike the other side which overlooks the pool and can get noisy. It's certainly not inexpensive...about $1500 a week in the summer, but if it's in your price range it certainly would fit the bill.

Last July we stayed at the "spanking brand new" Hyatt Windward Pointe Resort. The place was beautiful. Two bedroom and two bathroom condos. Great pool and garden areas. The only drawback is the resort is not smack in the middle of things. But if you are there for two weeks, you can rent bikes and you'll be fine. Check it out.
