Last Minute NYC help- Tickets

Hi Fodorites! I have decided to take my 7 and 9 y/olds to NYC this weekend and have found reasonable shuttle fares and Times Square hotel(not booked yet). The purpose would be to see the Lion King and cheer us all up as my husband is in Japan for a very extended business trip. Ticketmaster has orchestra seats in row Q, center but I am wondering if any other reputable(I know it might be expensive) last minute ticket agency might also have tix. ***Here is the problem- my daughter is a special needs child and I can not go far to pick up these tickets. Will any agencies deliver or otherwise get them to me? Should I take the row Q as they are the ONLY tickets that Ticketmaster has? Those tix are Sat. pm and I was really hoping for a matinee. Will Ticketmaster have any increased availablity later this evening. Thank you all SO much. Threehearts

Can you call the box office directly? I cannot remember what theater Lion King is in.

If your daughter is special needs (wheelchair?), they will be able to help you better than ticketmaster.

I don't have the answer about ticket agencies, but if you do buy the tickets from Ticketmaster, could you just pick them up at the theater when you arrive for the show? That's what I usually do.

Thanks for the replies. If I use Ticketmaster, they can have them at the will-call desk at the theater. Guess what(and no surprise)- they're gone. I did a search before asking here and I can't seem to find a poster with names of Times Square location ticket brokers(reputable). I'm too late to have them mailed and I believe that Ticketmaster is the only one who can email your tickets. Thanks again. I'll do a better WWW search. Threehearts

At this late date, you pick up tickets at the box office. That's the standard practice.
I'm surprised they had any Lion King seats at all for Saturday night at this late date.
When you book your hotel, ask someone there for the name of a ticket broker. There are several reputable ones in the Times Square.
Have you thought of getting tickets for Beauty and the Beast? They are much easier to obtain. In fact, the Playbill website (and others) have a special offer with Saturday matinee and evening tickets available for $70.

If you're really desperate you can always get tickets from on-line scalpers. However - I have no idea what they will cost - and you will have to pay to have them messengered to your hotel. You may be better with the Beauty and the Beast option.

Thanks so much everyone. I guess I was a little ambitious for this late date. Since I owe you some good advice- here's my thoughts for the day:

Avoid "The Enemy Within" at The Spy Museum. We recently took my parents and my father who's a big military buff was even incredulous. It's just a film narrated by Don Rumsfeld touting US propaganda. It was very distasteful and I'm kind of a middle-of-the-road political person.
On a fun note- We live around the corner from the National Zoo and our new cheetah cubs begin their public viewing tomorrow. I'm going down with the kids which is not as spectacular as The Lion King but they just might enjoy it more. Have a good one...Threehearts
