Long layover JFK airport
We have an 8 hour layover at JFK before going to Shannon. Landing on a Monday at 10am with departure at 6pm.
Don't really need to go into Manhattan. Been many times. Suggestions made to me for museums like Moving Image, Queens Museum of Art, Louis Armstrong House, etc are all closed on Monday.
What can we do?
Thanks..

I'd still come into Manhattan, particularly if the weather is decent. You can have a really nice lunch and walk around. There are places in most JFK terminals where you can check your carry on bags. Attractions other than museums are open on Mondays.

In the winter delays have a way of happening. You may end up with a lot less time in JFK. A link that may be useful: http://www.ifly.com/john-f-kennedy-i...mple-religious

The good thing about JFK is that if the weather is bad, you can always take the train or subway back to the airport - figure an hour and a half from midtown, although it will likely take closer to 1:15.
