Looking for 40th wedding anniversary venue
Hello,
We are looking for a place to hold a 40th anniversary dinner for my parents in June of 2006. There will be about 30 of us. We would like a turkey dinner (that is what their wedding meal was). We need a place to view a slideshow/video. We would love to be in the Lake Champlain Islands/Burlington area. I've checked into the Lincoln Inn in Essex as well as Shore Acres in No. Hero and the No. Hero House. Just thought I'd check here to see if anyone has done anything similar and had any good suggestions.
Thanks!
Cindy

Hello greenmtgirl, I just posted on your latest post. I failed to say to you that if you can't find your thread just look up at the upperhand corner of the screen. To the right of Welcome you will see your Fodor's name. Click that on and all your post will show up. Best wishes.

We stayed in Shelburne last year.I have two very good restaurants mentioned in my guide book ;Sirloin saloon(famous for their steaks, lobster and fresh fish from Maine) and Restaurant at the Inn at Shelburne Farms :Creative regional cuisine in a historical manor with view on Lake Champlain.
Dont forget to visit the Shelburne museum with your guests. Its great and fun for everyone. Paul from Belgium

A few years ago I co-hosted a birthday party at the Inn at Essex. Their restaurant is run by the New England Culinary Institute. This was for a group of about 15. Food and service were excellent. We didn't arrange for a set meal - everyone ordered off the menu. I have to say, though, that that was actually our second choice. I would have gone with Shelburne Farms except for the fact that they are not air conditioned. I doubt that will be a problem for you in June. Our event was at the end of July during a very hot summer. I think the setting at Shelburne is much nicer - beautiful grounds overlooking Lake Champlain.
