Massage in Kaui

I would like to surprise my husband of 10 years with a massage. Preferably outdoors on the beach.
Any ideas?

Check this site. Not on the beach, but overlooking the Wailua River Valley:

Hyatt is supposed to have the best spa on Kauai. However, it does not offer outside massages, only view of the beach from inside.

Marriott Beach Club in Lihue has couples massages in outdoor cabanas.

Usually when you have a spa treatment at a hotel, you get to use of the spa all day - which to me also means the pool. So think about that too.

Last year we had massages at the Princeville Golf Course Spa and the Hyatt spa. Both were great but I actually enjoyed the one in Princeville better. Neither are on the beach though...

Hi Anitas,

I don't know where you're staying but I know of one place in the north. In Ha'ena (not sure of the spelling-north of Hanalei) there is a massage studio on the premises of the Hanalei Colony Resort. Outside, next to the restaurant (it used to be Charos) there is an A-frame small structure covered in dried palm leaves. When I went over to read the sign it said, "For use only by xyz massage" (sorry I don't know the name of the place, but I'm sure the Hanalei Colony Resort can tell you)

I just realized that I didn't describe well enough the outdoor massage area. The A-frame structure is no more than 7 feet high and 8 feet long. It's open front and back. The front of the structure faces the beach. The structure itself is on grass. Directly in front of the grass is the beach. So, he can have his massage on the beach and hear the waves, but with a bit of privacy.

If you are in the Princeville area, the Hotel has massage on the beach that looks lovely. Save time for a drink in the Living Room and enjoy the view of one of the most beautiful places on earth!
