Need a kid friendly hotel in Philly, PA

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Philly (as close to downtown as possible) that has an indoor kids pool? I'd love to combine that request with a playground, and either free breakfast or a kitchenette?

Husband is going to be in a seminar for 4 days and I will be in the hotel with a 5 month old, 3 year and 4 year olds. Just need to find a way to keep them busy and happy.

Thanks for any input/suggestions!

Hampton Inn (next to Convention Center) has an indoor pool and free breakfast. It also is next to Chinatown with plenty of cheap and good restaurants. That's probably your best bet when it comes to free breakfast.

Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott, Courtyard Marriott and Doubletree also have pools.

Are you asking about any pool - or a pool specifically for little kids - that isn't shared by everyone else? I would think the latter is quite rare except for resorts.

You know how some hotels will have the pool that is approximately 5' deep and then they will have a small 1' deep pool for small children. It's not common....but that's what we're looking for.

I know - good luck!

Hmmm... I doubt you can find a hotel in downtown that has a kids-only pool.

In terms of playground, you can always take them to Rittenhouse Sq or Washington Sq. Not really a playground but they certainly can run around on the grass.

The Sheraton Society Hill on Dock Street (just below 2nd & Walnut near Penns Landing) has the kind of pools you are describing.

Just curious when you are going and what the seminar your husband is attending. My kids and I will be there in June with my husband for a conference. We're staying at the conference hotel (Loews) which has a pool and a kid's gift for each child upon arrival, kids' menu, etc. Not sure about breakfast, it appears to be included, but I haven't confirmed that. I know the Marriott across the street has a pool too, not sure about "kid friendliness" but if there are at least some steps to get into the pool the smaller ones can spend time there.

Check this page on the Loews website:

There are some wonderful looking parks in the downtown area, and we intend to take the trolley tour which lets you on and off the trolley as much as you like at various historic sites and parks. That might work for you as well.

Enjoy your trip!

P.S. - forgot to mention that when our kids were smaller I would bring inflatable floating devices that they could sit in (you know those baby ones with leg holes that they can sit in?) You can pack these fairly flat and blow them up when you get to the pool - if you can't find a hotel pool with a shallow area or steps.
