New Orleans post MardiGras
We are planning a trip to N.O. in early March. Are there any pros/cons this time of year. When is the best time to visit? We don't want the craziness of Mardi Gras. We were there once in mid-Sept and it was way too hot. Thought early Spring might be good.

Mardi Gras is February 8 so it will be long gone. Unless you visit during St. Pat's weekend, you will just have to deal with many conventioneers. It's a prime convention month!
Weather's usually nice. Much better than September.

My favorite time to visit New Orleans is for Quarter Fest, sometime around the second weekend in April. Great music all over the Quarter, food tents all over, but not so crowded that it's unpleasant. Jean

BlackandGold - My dh and I went to NO a few weeks after MG in 2002. While it was quieter than MG it was still a fun place to be. A few conventions around so it wasn't dead but not insane. The weather was variable - one day it was cool and misty the others were warmer and sunny. All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait to go again.
