New York City "People who say money does not buy happiness just don't know where to shop"

The person who delivered this famous quote was Lovie from Gilligan's Island. I have not been to New York in a while but I remember Century 21 for discount designer clothing and 8th Ave in the West Village for shoes.

Does anyone have any favorite areas or stores for discounts on men's fashion?

LOL, good title SufrSide..
those "People "are usually the ones with a lot of money also

My husband is not a bargain shopper, closest he came to that was sales days at Saks.
But there is a shop he liked on the West side off Columbus called Harry's Shoes..on Broadway.
Have fun~

Syms has 2 locations. I find things for DH at the one on 54 st b/w Park & Madison.

There's a store on Madison and ~46st. called Men's Warehouse or something like that. Good shoes there too if you like their styles. That stretch of Madison (~42-49 st.) has a number of men's shops.

Rothmans at 17 st is a good men's shop. Not sure about discounts. Many of the other discount places like Loehmann's, TJ Maxx, Filene's etc. carry men's things but I think mostly casual wear.

I've never been and no one here seems to mention it but NY Magazine has listed Loft Works in Tribeca in their "cheap" guide for a while for men's and women's clothes.

Obviously Lovie wasn't taking about New York. A bargain in New York is the same thing as regular price everywhere else.
