OK, beach people, what or where is your fav beach?

Maybe I haven't been to the right beach. We usually go to South Mission in San Diego, and usually in July and or Aug. It is crowded, hot, noisy, and you can't get into a restaurant on a Saturday night without a long wait or a reservation. BUT, my kids LOVE it. Why? Bc there are a million other teens there. And teens they know. Heck, half of our town is there.

But maybe I don't care for the beach bc I haven't been to the right beach. Where is YOUR favorite beach if you don't mind sharing? Maybe I will check it out sometime. And why is it your fav beach?

In the US?

Hollywood Beach, FL
South Beach
Sullivan's Island, SC
Pawleys Island, SC

I'm not a big fan of the beaches on the west coast because the water is too cold.

The nicest beach I ever went to was in Negril, Jamaica. The water was so calm you could just float there forever.

Cannon Beach, OR, early in the morning or at sunset. Or in winter, watching a storm from Stephanie Inn. Enjoying the fascinating small worlds of life in the tide pools.

The beach at Spring Lake, NJ, in the early evening. Quiet, nothing honky tonk and the town is beautiful.

In San Diego, my favorite beach is Torrey Pines State Beach. I'm not a fan of South Mission - much too crowded, although TP can get plenty crowded as well, but you can always walk a bit, either north or south, to get away from the crowds.

In Hawaii, we like Kaunaoa Beach, near the Mauna Kea resort.

I really like Panama City Beach and Ft. Walton Beach areas in Florida.

The closest beaches to us (in the West) that I enjoy are Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and I like Carlsbad beach closer to San Diego.

The prettiest beaches I have seen so far are on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and I enjoyed Cancun, the water is crystal blue and white sand...very pretty.

Sentimental favorite is Cape Henlopen in DE. Otherwise, I really love the beaches on Maui and Kauai.

You can get into an "East Coast/ West Coast" thing here WRT to Florida beaches.
I love the East Coast of Florida: Ft. Lauderdale, Delray, Singer Island.

Just about any along the FL panhandle--beautiful sandy beaches and gorgeous gulf water. REAL beaches, not those little bitty things we often pretend are beaches! ;-)

Some I love that we call beaches, but really don't have big sandy beaches are the island of Grand Caymen, Cozumel, and all of the Mexican Riviera.

If you want a cool weather beach with killer views, try Homer, Alaska!

St. Lucia - the beach at Jalousie Plantation. Just amazing - a stretch of white sand between the two incredible pitons - with snorkeling at the edge of one of them. Absolutely incredible.

A few of my favorites:

Shoal Bay Anguilla...perfect sugar sand, clear calm and warm turquoise water. Not to mention rum punches just a few feet away!

Captiva...beautiful sunsets, dolphins, shells, calm water

My local beaches - Because it's home.
