Ongoing flight from JFK - choose LaGuardia or Newark?

Arriving JFK from Europe in October. Does the ongoing flight to Chicago makes the most sense out of LGA or Newark? Thanks!

jetBlue has several daily nonstops JFK-ORD. Otherwise, LGA would be best.

American and Delta also have non stops from JFK to O'Hare and they often will match the JetBlue fare.

GO to www.kayak.com to check timings and prices; all three of the airlines mentioned will come up.

LGA is much closer than EWR, but agree with others, try to fly out of JFK.

Newark is a terrible idea. Getting from JFK to EWR can take up to 2 hours in bad traffic and/or cost $100 for a car service to get you there.

As stated by others, try to find a flight out of JFK even if it costs extra and has additional waiting time, but choose LGA as a second choice if you must

Thanks so much. I'm using AA miles from Barcelona, so the LaGuardia option looks good.

EWR would be disastrous. Definitely LGA. It's about 15 to 20 minutes by taxi or a half hour by bus from JFK to LGA, but the bus doesn't run very often.

I would also add that you must allow a minimum of 4 hours from landing at JFK to your flight at LGA, and I'd feel more comfortable with 5 hours. Immigration alone often takes more than an hour at JFK.

Really a flight out of JFK is by far the best choice.

Newark is simply a disaster.

And even though LGA is fairly close - if your plane is delayed, immigration lines are long and there is construction or accident between the 2 airports - even a 5 hour window can be cutting it tight. (Airlines at LGA typically tell you to arrive there 2 hours before flight time - I have seen security lines that take an hour to get through.)

Sorry - and AA at LGA is notorious for huge lines for check in and security as well as dismal customer service.

I fly out of LGA a lot. Sometimes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday the line can be very short.
