ORLANDO, FLORIDA

My family visited Orlando, Florida in Februay 2004. Had a fabulous holiday. However, an item on the news station during our stay still bothers us. It concerned a family who had gone missing whilst visiting Florida. (I'm not sure if they were from Georgia). They had been on a birthday visit to Jack in the Box and sometime later, they disappeared. I think they were a Mum, Dad and two kids. Does anyone remember this story, and know what became of them.

I hope it wasn't. But if it was them, was anyone caught and punished for the crime?

I thought the turnpike family murder turned out to be related to a drug deal if I recall. The dad was part of something...I'll try and find the article.

""There are new developments in the case of a family of four murdered along the turnpike near Port St. Lucie last year.

Court officials in South Florida are now moving the trial of the alleged shooters from October to early next year, to allow the government to prepare for a possible death penalty case.

Federal investigators believe Daniel Troya and Ricardo Sanchez, Jr. shot and killed Jose Luis Escobedo, his wife Vessica Escobedo and their two young sons last October.

Investigators believe Escobedo and his family were either picking up, or delivering drugs when they were killed.""

Thanks Wednesday for all your information. I think this is a different case. It was February 2004 when we visited Orlando, and it was a news item at that time. I may be mistaken about Jack in the Box, but I know the family had been for a birthday treat to a fast food place.

It may seem strange to want to know about this case, but it received so much coverage on TV that my family still remember the story. We had had such a lovely holiday in Orlando, and were sad to hear this story. We hoped there would be a happy outcome. We live in Wales, U.K. and had no way of keeping in touch with events.
