Don't know of any web site. You can take tours similar to the Hollywood tours but I am sure all you see are closed gates and long driveways.
Although it is true that becoming famous leaves you open to scrutiny by fans and the media, I personally can't imagine why anyone would want to invade someone's privacy by hanging out in front of their house. If you go shopping in Palm Springs or on El Paseo in Palm Desert, you may see celebrities. Being that it's very hot in the desert right now, I wouldn't count on seeing too many.

Paula- Actually we have driven near many of the stars homes in hollywood, we never knocked at anyones door, or even stopped. It is just something that millions of people that visit or live near hollywood and palm springs do.
Thank you for your reponse.

I have either lived or worked in both Hollywood and Palm Springs. Maybe visitors want to drive by star's homes but most residents I know try to respect the star's privacy. I know with the Hollywood tours that often all you can see is roof tops and closed gates and they pass by homes that a star used to live in. Maybe it's different in Palm Springs.

IMHO if you really want to see movie stars or celebreties you're much better off in NYC that LA or Palm Springs. Here they can;t live in gated mansions - and have to be out on the street with everyone else.
(But if you prefer to look at the house Lucille Ball lived in in 1956 - go ahead and take a tour.)

I am researching my upcoming trip to Palm Springs - yes, such map exists, but I doubt it's on the Internet.
Reading a tour book - they sell those maps for $5 (2003 book) at the touris and visitors bureau... don't remember now where it is, and the book is at home, and I'm at work, but maybe the locals know where this place is?
It's not the Tram place, some other.
Oh, by the way, I'm not going on this tour. Who cares which Hoolywood person hid his layer behind this fence! Give them some privacy and go to the movies.

We got a map of the stars homes from our hotel. We saw where Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Bob Hope, Lucy and Desi Arnez and serveral other stars lived. It must have been one heck of a lively city back in those days. These stars were all neighbors.
Liberace had two homes in this area, they were set up like shrines. For instance a piano mail box, and music notes on the black rod iron gate.
This was not like the Hollywood Hills where you do not see anything, you kind of get the "feeling" of how it must have been back then.

Spencer's on the Mountain is a recommended restaurant in Palm Springs (from my foodie friends).
I would be really careful with those date shakes. Hard on the digestive tract. If you are driving out from LA Hadley's has them. Otherwise I think you might need to head down Hwy 111 toward one of the Date Gardens.

Date garden? That tourist trap stop? No, thanks. Their shake is not good.
I tried a really good one at the Date Festival, and don't remember who's booth is was.
What about Red Pepper Health Nut - found on the internet as "the original date shake place".
As for digestion... one or 2 shakes won't kill me, I hope.

It was 120 degrees the weekend we went. Too hot to lay out really, except if you are IN THE WATER AT THE POOL.
We stayed at the Wyndahm and played tennis a few times.
Played a few slots at the Spa Casino, nice and cool in there.
