I'm going to drive from the Youngstown area to Cleveland next weekend, to meet relatives at Jacobs Field. I was advised to park near Public Square to avoid post-game traffic. Can someone give me directions to a good parking location, coming from the turnpike?

I would park at the Tower City parking. It's easy to find (there are signs) and there's a walkway inside to Jacobs Field.

How do I get there from the turnpike?

I don't know, I never take the turnpike as I am directly east from cleveland on the lake.

what turnpike exit are you taking? don't go as far as #10 (Strongsville)-too far out of the way, although it's just a quick jump onto I-71 North from there, which is a straight shot into town.
