Seattle B & B - anyone know Foxglove Guesthouse, Capitol Hill area?

Hi,

Heading to Seattle, Capitol Hill area for a weekend to visit our daughter & family. We are looking for a B & B or boutique hotel.

Near her location, she found the Foxglove Guesthouse. Anyone with any experience or information about it?

Thanks, SusanEva

The Foxglove is near where I live, but I can't find any information about it other than what is on its web site. The location isn't convenient for visitors, unless it is near your daughter or you like to shop at Trader Joe's.

And, I get the impression it is "gay" friendly--if that appeals to you.

The "best" place to stay in this area is the Silver Cloud, on Broadway and Madison. I believe the spacious rooms come with breakfast.

Thanks HappyTrails,

I think I'll look some more. Thanks for the suggestion on the Silver Cloud.

The Foxglove room doesn't have an in room toilet, only shower, so isn't probably exactly what we're looking for.

Appreciate your response!

Hi SusanEva, The two most established B&Bs on Capitol Hill are Gaslight Inn and Salisbury House. They've both been around for a long time, so they must be offering something travelers want. I know people who have stayed at these places, but nobody who has stayed at either of them twice. HTTY

Thanks, we booked at Salisbury House. Good reviews on Trip Advisor and helpful website. Your advise was helpful in moving us to this location. Much appreciated.

You will like the residential neighboord in which Salisbury House is located. You might like to know that there are three very good restaurants nearby: Vios Cafe (Greek, 903 19th Ave. E), Monsoon (Vietnamese, 615 19th Ave. E), and Kingfish (Soul, 602 19th Ave. E).

Please let us know how this turns out, if you don't mind. I live nearby and may need the same information for my cat-allergic out-of-town guests!

Those three restaurants on 19th are all excellent BTW. I'll add Coastal Kitchen and North Hill Bakery on 15th.

The Foxglove Guesthouse is lovely. Beautifully furnished home and guest rooms. My family members who have stayed there have raved about it and have made repeat visits. I have been in the house but have not stayed there but my relatives give it high marks and highly recommend! The owners are wonderful people too.

Thanks Jennifer.

We're just visiting Seattle, arrived tonight. Checked into the Salisbury House. I think we'll wander over to check out the Foxglove Guesthouse. We tried to book with them with not much advance time, so there wasn't much choice in rooms.

From the little we've seen in the dark, Salisbury House looks very nice as well.
