It really comes down to want you want. The Hyatt is luxurious and the room rates reflect that. The sheraton is nice, but its not the hyatt. However it fronts the best part of poipu beach. The beach fronting the hyatt is only for surfing/bodysurfing. I would see about the marriott waiohai. I know its timeshares, but I think there are rooms available. The waiohai has been completely redone and is very nice. It also fronts one of the better beach locations in poipu.

I guess if I were on my honeymoon, I would choose the Hyatt because it has that great resort feel. The grounds are beautiful, meandering paths and tropical foliage and pools. It also has a better choice of restaurants, and a great Spa that you must go to for a relaxing massage or facial. To die for. They also have a great workout room at the Spa.
The Sharaton is nice, and the beach is better there but it does lack that resort feel you will get at the Hyatt. Also the restaurants are not as nice. I am not sure if they have a workout area, but do not think they have a spa.
If you want to use their beach, you can always drive there, about 5 minutes from Hyatt. There is a public parking area for the beach.
