Traffic from Laguna to Universal Studios
Hi, we live in Laguna Beach and need to be at Universal Studies by 9:00 am on Wednesday. Does anyone know how long the drive will take or what time we should leave to avoid traffic? If the traffic is bad, can anyone recommend a hotel near Universal Studios to stay the night before?
THANK YOU!!!
Lisa

Ouch.
That's hitting some of the hardest times of the morning commute. But you knew that already.
The most direct route (Laguna Canyon up to the 405, then the 605, then the 5, then the 101 to Universal) will probably take about 2 hours Wednesday morning. Maybe more, frankly.
It might be best to stay up in Universal City. Or Burbank. The Sheraton Universal is really close, but its reviews are all over the map. You pay for the location. I haven't tried to look at lodging in that area in years, so I'm throwing it back to the group. Although I might suggest the Hollywood Roosevelt as a splurge-- not too far away (maybe 3 miles-- 20 minutes on surface roads), and full of Hollywood history. Good luck!

Sorry for the long link!
This is for real time for today (Saturday). But if you do it on a M or T you can get an idea of a working day morning.
