Traffic from Little Rock Airport to Hot Springs. Do we want to drive this or fly directly into Hot Springs?
Coming to Hot Springs Labor Day week-end. The air fares are dramatically cheaper flying into Little Rock coming from Wisc, but if the traffic is really bad would pay the extra to fly into Hot Springs. Opinions??? Is it true there will be a big Blues Fest that week-end?? Thanks Much

I would say you're fine to fly into Little Rock. The airport is in a good location to get to Hot Springs (don't have to drive through much of LR at all). The traffic will probably be backed up, but at most you're looking at a couple of hours. (It usually took us about an hour with normal traffic). Depending on how much cheaper the flight is, I would definitely undure that to save some cash!

There is major construction on I-30 but made it from the airport in LR to Hot Springs in a little over an hour. A lot will depend on the time of day you plan to travel. Avoid rush hour and you should be fine.

I'd go with Little Rock too. There really is a LOT of construction between Southwest Little Rock through Benton, but it won't be that bad. It's a little crazy driving I-30 through here right now b/c of all the concrete barriors. I feel awfully close to big trucks sometimes, but traffic still moves fairly well, except at rush hour. Once you get past Benton, traffic shouldn't be a problem. Have a great trip!

Actually, the last time I went to Hot Springs (I live in LR) it was a very quick drive. I'd say that the drive would take about an hour, nmaybe an hour and a half. There's no need to pay extra money to fly to Hot Springs. It's closer than it seems.

Little Rock airport to Hot Springs is an easy drive. Just take I-30 to exit 111, then highway 70 into Hot Springs. It's a little over an hour. No need to pay extra to fly into Hot Springs because you'll probably want a car anyway.
