Visit San Diego Zoo or San Diego Wild Animal Park of both???

In your opinion, what's better- San Diego Zoo or San Diego Wild Animal Park? Assuming I can only visit one. Hopefully can do both but just in case. Thanks.

I'd recommend the Zoo unless you want to spend the extra $ to do one of the private tours where you can feed the giraffes. With the zoo, you are close up to all the animals whereas at the Wild animal park, they are in the distance. Best option is to get the 2 day pass where you can do both

I agree with the Zoo first, logistically being in SD as well as being close up to the animals as tchoiniere mentions.

Vote five for the zoo. If you had two days, I'd spend them both at the zoo before making time for Animal Park.

I would do the Animal Park over the zoo. You should do a caravan tour where you feed several of the animals along the way. It was very cool feeding the tallest giraffe in the world and having a rhino stick his mouth around your hand and arm to eat. That saying, the Zoo is the best zoo you will see anywhere. The animals even seem a whole lot more active there than other zoos. If possible you should consider spending the night in one of the parks. Roar and snore program. As with anything the really good stuff cost extra but if you are going to go you might as well see the highlights while you are there.

If you could only choose 1, then definitely the zoo. The wild animal park when I was researching it wasn't as appealing to me as the Zoo.

Enjoy!

Zoo.

The park was just ok IMO. Very hot, longer drive to get there and there wasn't as much to see. Tram was was ok.

The zoo was very good. The Animal Park was a waste of money.

I would pick the Park, most definitely. It's unique. There is nothing else that I know of like it. A zoo is a zoo. The one in SD is very good, but there are other good zoos.
