VT/NH Foliage Peak?

Been checking weather channel foliage site and it's saying The White Mountain Area has reached peak. Going to start in Bar Harbor, Maine on Saturday the 7th and work our way through New Hampshire/VT and back up the coast of Maine from Oct 7 thru 17. Hope it will still be stunning -

Good luck on your trip!

I can only tell you that around the Rutland, VT area it is under way, with some color, but not yet peaked. Should be fairly nice by the time you get down this way.

Foliage looking east toward the Green Mountain range from Rte 7, between Rutland and Manchester, VT is starting to look nicer but still has a way to go.

It is already already quite nice around Manchester, VT , however, and is visible from the Rte 7 highway on your way south toward Bennington.

If you are on Rt. 89 in Concord, NH, take a quick detour onto Clinton Street towards Bow. Gorgeous, vivid, peaking color right now around Turkey Pond, the Audubon, and St. Paul's.
(Don't worry, the rest of the area is not at peak. These are a majority of forescent red swamp maples.)
Enjoy!

The Stowe area was very close to peak this past weekend. Word has it that the Northeast Kingdom and White Mountains are at peak right now.

Expect extremely heavy traffic this weekend in the Conway NH area. I would try to avoid this area during peak travel times. Was on Rt 93S heading to Concord last Saturday, late afternoon and was surprised at how heavy the traffic was. Maybe more people were leaf peeping on Sat due to predicted Sunday rain. The passing lane was going 60mph. It will be even heavier this weekend since colors are looking very nice. Still somewhat spotty but look more vibrant than last week. As Dreamer2 said, some areas of swamp maples are very vibrant right now, other swampy areas are already past. Expect great color in some places, muted in others so just drive a few miles, turn a corner and it will be different. That's what makes touring so much fun.

Thanks for the tips. Actually, I should clarify - we'll be starting in Bar Harbor the first two days, down the coast one day in Portland then move over to NH/VT. Hopefully, we will see vivid colors. thanks again
