There will be 3 of us, my girlfriend and I are both mid 30's. I have med length dark blond hair and she has med length dark brown hair. She also has very large dark brown eyes. Her mom is in her 50's and is cute, small and has short brown hair. We will be the loud ones

Hmmm...... maybe I can talk my wife into being flies on the wall at Vault tomorrow night! We could follow that up with creme brulee at Pho Van. Or, anyone tried sushi at Hurley's?

The report.....

We had a fantastic time (as always) in Portland.....

We stayed at the Mariott on Broadway on Friday night. Very nice rooms, fantastic location and top notch service from the entire staff.

After we checked in we decided to grab a quick lunch at Pazzo on the corner. Surprisingly good wood fired pizza, ceasar salad and pasta.

Spent most of the afternoon in Nordstrom.....'nuf said!

Drinks friday evening at The Vault, we got there about 6:30 and it was packed full! Great happy hour prices until 7pm. (was anyone else there?). I had 2 great Ginger drops, friend had the peach margarita and I can't remember what the other had. Great recommendation, thank you!

Dinner that night at Noble Rot. WOW!! This is a fantastic place, they sell all the wine retail and then just add a $7 corkage fee, keeps the wine prices really low. And the chef/owner is doing amazing food! It is served tapas/share style. Mostly NW fresh and local ingrediants, beautiful presentations and the flavors are just spot on!!

Saturday we grabbed coffee at Peet's and did a bit more shopping in the downtown core. We then checked out and made our way to the wine region.

Lunch at Dundee Bistro as always was bustling and good. We then headed out to Anne Amie vineyards. The people here are doing completely different things than the Cht. Benoit was. Really nice single vineyard PN's as well as a Bordeaux style red called Belle Rouge and keep your eyes open for a Port using Syrah! We spent about an hour with Scott the winemaker going thru different barrels and bottles. This is a good vineyard to watch.

Stopped in at Lange after as it was getting late, they are very low on their PN's as are most. Some nice Pinot Gris Reserve here though.

Stayed at the Shilo Inn in Newburg (ugh) and had a wonderful dinner at Tina's. I had forgotten how low their bottle mark up was!!

The next morning we headed back to Portland to check out the newly opened Modern Art wing at the PAM. Very nice space and a great collection. The museum is free for the next few weeks I think!

Lunch before heading out of town in the Pearl at the Paragon since we were running late and knew we could get a good corned beef sandwich fairly quickly. Next time I want to try the Pho Van though!

Sounds like a fun trip! Obviously I didn't make it to Vault, but wished I had. Would have loved to meet you. That Shilo is a bit scary looking from the outside, so I think your quick ugh was enough to know, lol!

I was waiting for this trip report. Thanks stormygirl. One of the things I like about Cuneo is that they do something other than pinot noir well, which I think speaks highly of the wine maker. Sounds like Anne Amie is doing something similar. Thanks for the heads up.

I figured you'd like Noble Rot. Your review makes me want to go there again soon. Wished we had made it to Vault, but glad you liked it.

How was Tina's? I've read about it, but not been there yet. So the corned beef at Paragon is good? My wife and I can't bring ourselves to order other than the calamari there. We think it's the best in town.

stormygirl, we were sort of there Pup and I walked by Vault but it was around 6..or a bit before..sorry we missed you!
My drink there is the Blood Orange Margarita..the cheese/fruit plate is our fav happy hour item.

I look forward to going to Noble Rot..
I always have the mushrooms at Paragon or share the calamari with my husband..love that place! Service is so good too..
Did you have pasta at Pazzo? They do the best fresh pasta with tomato sauce, simple but so good.

When you come back, we will try again

Tina's is excellent! Simply prepared using local fresh ingrediants.

The make their own duck pate in house which is stellar. Between the three of us we had lamb chops with an amazing demi glace, duckbreast on a bed of butternut and potatoes and goat cheese souffle.

beachbum, if you like the bigger wines definately try the new Sinister Hand from Owen Roe, it's a Chat. du Pape style and it kicks _ss! Also his Zin is a monster wine!

We'll catch you all next time!!
